Burdick: Senior citizens meet Friday

Senior citizens of Burdick will meet at noon Friday at the Legion hall for a covered dish luncheon (meat will be furnished). The county health nurse will be there at 11 a.m. to check blood pressure and give flu shots.

There will be a hog roast fund-raiser for Jesse Smith beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Burdick United Methodist Church. Money donated will be used to help pay his medical expenses.

Elmer and Mae Forsberg of Junction City visited Earl and Evelyn Forsberg Wednesday afternoon. Morgan Rickenbrode of Council Grove spent Friday night and Saturday with the Earl Forsbergs. Mike and Jane Rickenbrode and Wade were Saturday evening visitors. Morgan went home with her parents and Wade stayed with his grandparents Saturday night and Sunday.

Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson spent Saturday afternoon with Steve and Donna Hanneman of Peabody.

Forrest and Marie Anderson visited Chris Burhoop Sunday afternoon at Salina Regional Hospital. The Andersons also visited LaVern and Maureen Johnson at Lindsborg Sunday afternoon, helping them celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary.

Earl and Evelyn Forsberg were Sunday evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan.

Dr. Larry Peterson and Chuck Alexander of Granby, Colo., Tom Burdick of Castle Rock, Colo., Mike Burdick of North Carolina, Gene Ronsick of Kansas City, Craig and Tanner Kemp of Minnesota, Terry Little of Texas, and Darrell and Candice Deneault of Salina spent the weekend with Neva Peterson. Other Friday evening visitors with Neva and her houseguests were Glenn and Sandy Carlson, Katie and Andy, Jake Tindle of Hutchinson, Galen Peterson, and Jack Riggin, who visited several times during the weekend. Steve and Sharon Nelson visited with Neva and her guests Sunday evening.
