Burdick: Seniors to meet

Senior citizens will meet at noon Friday at the Burdick Legion hall for a covered dish luncheon. Meat will be furnished. Nancy Methvin will show her quilts, men will play cards.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Kemble of Herington visited Monday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Forsberg and Elmer Schump.
Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Friday evening with Kent and Jean Brunner and Nolan Brunner of Lost Springs, Melissa Stimac of the University of Kansas, and Jill McGrath and Tucker of Manhattan.
Rob Schump of Seattle, Wash., was a Tuesday and Wednesday overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Forsberg and Elmer Schump.
Saturday dinner guests of Inez Schild were Ila Bryant of Wichita and Paul and Nadine James of Emporia.
Wednesday evening visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Forsberg were Rob Schump, Elmer Schump, Earl Schump of Herington, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Forsberg, Joe, Savannah, and Ethan. Elmer and Rob Schump left Thursday morning for their homes in Washington.
Ruth Anderson of Salina visited Linnea Nelson and Karin Nelson on Saturday.
Burdette and Maureen Peterson entertained with Saturday evening supper for Mr. and Mrs. Bret Beye of Herington and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Peterson.
Darrell and Candice Deneault of Salina were Saturday overnight and Sunday guests of Neva Peterson, celebrating Mother's Day.
Josie Peterson of Lincolnville spent Mother's Day with Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson.
Mother's Day visitors of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg were Mr. and Mrs. Dean Forsberg, Joe, Savannah, and Ethan. Other callers during the past week were Harry Schump of Herington, Sabrina Forsberg of Emporia, and Marcus Duncan of Ft. Riley.
The Rev. David Nelson, Rachel and Maggie attended the Gene Nelson retreat near Junction City. Rev. Nelson also gave the lesson. Several Methodists and Lutherans from the Burdick area attended the retreat on Sunday.
Charles and Arlene Carlson were Sunday afternoon guests of John and Rose Stimac at the Herington Country Club in honor of Melissa Stimac, who graduates from the University of Kansas in Lawrence on Sunday.
Bruce and Alona Hedstrom attended a dance recital Sunday afternoon for Callie and Kailyn Riffel, daughters of Jeff and Tana Riffel.
