Burdick seniors to meet Jan. 17 years ago

Burdick senior citizens will meet at noon Jan. 17 for a covered dish meal. Meat will be furnished. Plans are being made for a program after the meal.

Ruth Riggin had Mr. and Mrs. Chris Bielefeld, Seth and Megan of Peabody, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Sader and Trevin, and Mr. and Mrs. Lyala Sader of Salina as her guests for Christmas Eve.

The following were guests at a surprise birthday party for Audine Strand Saturday evening: John, Cathy, and Mindy Herpich, Lawrence and Delores Hird, Verle Bowers, Clarence Gehrke, Virgil Chandler, Harold Piper, Harold and Joyce Roever, Joyce Piper, Dwayne and Delores Stroda, Cindy Mowat, Madelyn Nillspaugh, Laurie Brunner, Renato Sweet, Randy Keller, and Irvin Strand.

Ruth Riggin visited with Mr. and Mrs. Gary Zinn Thursday afternoon. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Martin, Justin and Ruthie Ann of Woodbridge, Va., and Deanna Zinn of Copeland.

New Year's Eve supper guests of Forrest and Marie Anderson were Charles and Mona Kniebel of White City.

Charlene McRae and Jane Rickenbrode of Council Grove visited Thursday afternoon with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg. Evening visitors were Dean Forsberg and Ethan and Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson.

Neva Peterson visited with Edna Peterson at Herington Friday.

Forrest and Marie Anderson had John Coffman and Louis Breet of Pryor, Okla., as their noon luncheon guests on New Year's Day.

Keith and Bonnie Sue Hefner of Wagoner, Okla., and Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove were Saturday dinner guests of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg. Keith and Bonnie Sue were overnight guests.

George and Barbara Adams of Burdick and Marty and Tyler Adams of Tennessee were Wednesday afternoon visitors of Forrest and Marie Anderson.

Glenn and Sandy Chapman of Theodosia, Mo., were Sunday morning visitors of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Jean Brunner and Jill Brunner and Tucker were Saturday evening guests of Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Ruth Riggin and Neva Peterson accompanied C.J. and Pat Baker to Topeka Sunday to visit Enid Anderson, then on to Lawrence to visit Dr. and Mrs. Tom Liebl, Parker, McKenzie, and Bracken and with Mr. and Mrs. Marc Baker and family.

Sunday dinner guests of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg were Mr. and Mrs. Dean Forsberg, Joe, Savannah, and Ethan, Sabrina Forsberg of Emporia, Marcus Dunkin of Fort Riley, and Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove. Afternoon visitors were Fred and Kathy Harveston of Lakewood, Calif., Allen and Connie Thomas of Council Grove, and Richard Forsberg. They celebrated Jane's and Joseph's birthdays.

Ron and Jenny Schrader, Shae and Hunter of Wichita called on Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson Sunday evening.

Earl Forsberg and Richard Forsberg were notified of the death of their brother Elmer Forsberg of Junction City on the evening of New Year's Day. Elmer was a brother of Kathy Harveston of Lakewood, Calif., and Bill Forsberg of Atchison as well. Elmer's three brothers and sister were able to attend the funeral on Saturday, as were many other relatives. Several friends from the Burdick and Junction City area attended the funeral and it was greatly appreciated.
