C. Robert Wegerer
C. Robert Wegerer, 58, died April 3, 2006, at Wichita.
Born Oct. 12, 1947, at Goessel, he was the son of Robert and Pauline (Patry) Wegerer.
He graduated in 1965 from Marion High School and joined the Kansas Air National Guard in 1967. He served in Korea from 1968-69.
On Oct. 30, 1971, he married Karen Blick and the couple moved to Colwich.
In 1993, he retired with honors from Kansas Air National Guard, after achieving the rank of senior master sergeant.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Ray.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Richard Bertematti of North Bergen, N.J.; three sons, Matthew of Kansas City, Mo., and Stephen and James, both of Colwich; mother, Pauline of Hillsboro; and brother, Lou of Marion.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, Colwich, with the Rev. David Lies officiating.
Burial was in St. Mark Cemetery with full military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force of McConnell Air Force Base.
A memorial fund has been established with the church stained glass window fund.
