Ron Widler, owner of Ron's Cleaners and Coin Laundry, 107 South Second, Marion, was not particularly pleased about having to shut down his coin-operated laundry, with the City of Marion invoking its emergency water conservation ordinance Monday night.

Widler said, "Are they gonna stop everybody in town from washing clothes?" He said that several living units in town have coin-operated washers and dryers, and he "wondered about them."

"Why stop me if not them?" Widler asked. "If it's really necessary, it's not a big deal, and we can all put up with it. I don't use that much water, anyway," he said.

Kevin Burkholder, an owner of J & K Car Wash on South Third Street, said he was not happy about having to shut down his car wash, either. "But I hope it won't last too long," he said. "We'll just get on down the road, wait and see."
