Card shower to honor Betty May
A birthday card shower is requested to honor Betty May.
May, a lifelong Marion resident, will celebrate her 75th birthday on Oct. 12.
Betty Jean Weber was born on a farm in Marion County on Oct. 12, 1928. She worked as a dental assistant/receptionist for Dr. Eugene Vinduska in Marion, and for Newton's Alco and J.C. Penney's stores.
At the age of 55, she completed her Registered Nurse degree from Hesston College. She became the director of nursing at Marion Manor, then retired from Peabody Nursing Home at the age of 70. May is a member of the Marion Christian Church.
She married Francis May on May 4, 1946, in Lyons. She has four children, 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
