"An unkind remark is like a killing frost — no matter how much it warms up, the damage is already done."
The Cedar Point Community Church is having its Valentine dinner next Sunday at the church. Mike Ireland will provide the entertainment. It starts at 6 p.m. The church will have a bowling party at the Peabody Bowling Center from 3 to 6 p.m. Feb. 24.
I hope everyone stayed safe and warm from the ice and sleety-snow we had this past week. I was not able to come home from work until Friday evening. It felt really good to be home. I did get stuck trying to get to work one morning and a Marion truck driver gave me a push, which I really appreciated.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Margaret Lalouette Jones, who died recently. She formerly was of Florence. Graveside services were Monday at the Florence cemetery.
Get well wishes go to Maryann Madsen of Peabody, who is home recovering from heart catheterization.
Ruth Chance of Iowa is here visiting her sisters, Aline Anderson and Georgia Lalouette. Ruth said she almost didn't come, but after she got her car out of the driveway, she just kept coming.
Dale and Kay Wealand took Helen Wealand to dinner in Marion Saturday evening.
Many Cedar Point people supported the pancake feed Sunday at the Florentine Senior Center. It was a fund raiser to support the Florence ambulance service The ambulance is a great service to all of us.
Hope everyone has a great week!
