Celebration to honor Riggin's 80th birthday years ago

There will be a celebration at the Burdick United Methodist Church from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday for Ruth Riggin's 80th birthday. This will be hosted by Ruth's family.
There will be a bridal shower for Ashley and Randy Ecklund at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hebron Lutheran Church. Everyone is welcome. Please bring your favorite recipe.
Earl and Ruth Schump of Herington visited Earl and Evelyn Forsberg Tuesday evening.
Tom Nelson visited Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson Tuesday morning.
Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Savannah and Ethan visited Monday evening with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.
Steve Thornton of Abilene and Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Roger Peterson, and Oliver Peterson were Thursday dinner guests of Les and Marie Thornton at Abilene. They were celebrating Wendell's birthday.
Ethan Forsberg was a Thursday evening supper guest of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Forsberg. Wade and Morgan Rickenbrode spent Sunday with Earl and Evelyn.
Darrell and Candice Deneault of Salina visited Neva Peterson on Saturday. They all attended Alice Peterson's 80th birthday celebration Saturday afternoon in Herington.
Saturday afternoon callers of Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson were Earl and Evelyn Forsberg to celebrate Wendell's birthday.
The "Bread in a Bag" program was presented again in seven classrooms to 3rd grade students under the direction of Ann J. Sparke, Morris County Extension Agent, Family and Consumer Sciences/4-H Youth. Volunteers assisting Sparke and Marie Anderson at Centre and Herington were Ruth Riggin, Darlene Gutsch, Nancy Hanson, Naomi Nelson, and Valerie Love of Burdick, Brianna Methvin, Karen Carlson, and Becky Alvarez of Lincolnville, Pat Nelson, Alice Wendt, Ida Mae Wendt, Gladys Albrecht, Mary Ann Schlesener, Lori Brunner, Connie Castleberry, Krista Meyer, and Terri Turley, all of Herington. The program was presented Jan. 27 and 29.
Mary Deane Peterson entertained with a birthday supper Saturday at the Rockin' V Restaurant in Herington for Wendell's 76th birthday. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Les Thornton of Abilene, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Schrader, Shae and Hunter of Wichita, Marvin Peterson, Eric, Scott, and Josie of Lincolnville, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Bret Beye, Chelsea and Cuyler of Herington, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Peterson, Oliver Peterson, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, and Mr. and Mrs. Burdette Peterson.
Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Kent and Jean Brunner on Saturday.
