Centre ag business management team takes first at state
Centre FFA members traveled to Manhattan April 27-29, to participate in Kansas State Career Development events.
The ag business management team placed first out of 25 teams, to qualify for national competition next November during the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Ky.
All team members finished in the top ten in individual scoring: Andrea Carlson, first; Derek Belton, third; and Kristin Mueller, seventh.
The ag sales team finished second among 29 teams. Belton placed sixth in individual scoring, and Mueller placed seventh. Shaina Makovec and Brent Carlson also were on the team.
Laura Klenda and Ashley Perkins competed in the floriculture contest. The meats team was comprised of Jenny Cafferty, Laura Klenda, Aaron Barney, and Steven Hageberg. Livestock judging participants were Jackie Klenda, Barney, and Joe Forsberg.
