Centre FFA competes in speech contest
The Centre FFA chapter hosted the south central district speech and job interview career development events Saturday.
At least 70 students from 12 schools were involved, along with 40 judges, and 20 timekeepers.
Centre finished fourth overall in public speaking. Senior Kristine Jirak finished third and qualified for state competition in June. Senior Gloria Belton also competed.
Senior Nellie Hill finished fourth in extemporaneous speaking and will compete at state.
Julie Rziha finished fifth in the junior division.
In the freshmen division, Dallas Spooner placed third, Sammi Seifert eighth, and Alex Hajek ninth. Heath Hill and Shelby Deines also competed.
Nellie Hill finished third in job interview competition and qualified for state, and Kristine Jirak finished fourth.
