Centre FFA members attend state convention
At least seven members of the Centre FFA chapter attended the June 2-4 state convention in Manhattan.
Laura Klenda participated in the state FFA choir and her sister Jackie played in the band. Each group performed two concerts during the convention.
Other students who attended were Alisha Barney, Gloria Belton, Savannah Forsberg, Alfonse Klenda, and Jeremy Kristek. The group was accompanied by advisors Gaea Wimmer and Cary Granzow.
Four members attended a leadership workshop with national FFA president, Javier Moreno. Motivational speakers included retiring state FFA officers and KC Wolf of the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Centre chapter received several awards. It placed third in website development and scrapbook competitions. It also received national chapter awards in community development, chapter development, and student development.
Aaron Barney, Joseph Forsberg, and Laura Klenda received state FFA degrees.
