Centre girls score easy wins
The experience of the Centre High School volleyball team showed itself again Sept. 12 as they improved their record to 9-3 by defeating Solomon and Elyria on the road.
The girls defeated Solomon in two games, 25-9 and 25-15. They served a perfect 24-24 and 25-25.
Selena Seifert provided nine service points, followed by Teaira Turner for eight. Turner aced the ball three times.
Alisha Barney and Kylie Burhoop led at the net with 11 and nine spikes, respectively, and three kills each.
The win against Elyria was accomplished in two games, 25-12 and 25-11.
Seifert served for 18 points and was perfect in setting at 22-22, nine for a kill. Burhoop also aced the ball four times.
Barney and Burhoop again were strong at the net with 12 spikes each and a total of six kills. Megan Gutsch blocked the ball three times.
The team plays this weekend at the Herington invitational.
