Centre girls wrap up regular season

A Centre softball team of girls 12 years old and under wrapped up their regular season July 1 with a double header against Marion at Lincolnville. The girls lost both games and ended the season with a record of 4-5.
Head coach is Gail Burns. She is assisted by Marvin Peterson, Angie Seifert, and Clay Simons.
Team members range in age from eight to 12 and serve in varied positions.
Infielders include Bridgette Burns, Leann Pankratz, Josie Peterson, Allison Shields, Diadra Chavers, and Carlye Simons, all of Lincolnville, Shelby Deines, Ramona, and Samantha Seifert, Lost Springs.
Outfielders are Nikki Potocnik, Lincolnville, Cassie and Danielle Spohn, Ramona, Theo Kassebaum, Burdick, Samantha and Coryn Correll, Tampa, and Katie Remy, Lost Springs.
The highlight for the Cougars in the final game of the evening was a triple play in the top of the second inning. A low-fly ball was caught by Bridgette Burns and runners were put out at first and third base. Carlye Simons provided a home run.
Sponsored by Double V Construction of Lincolnville, the team is competing in a tournament this week.
