Centre homecoming is Friday

This week is spirit week at Centre High School. The week's activities will culminate Friday with the crowning of a king and queen. Varsity games against Solomon will follow.

A community pep rally will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the gymnasium and will feature class competitions.

The theme for winter homecoming is "Melt" by Rascal Flats. Colors are light and dark purple.

Queen candidates are Andrea Carlson, daughter of Duane and Karen Carlson, Lincolnville; Laura Klenda, daughter of Val and Julie Klenda, Lincolnville; Trisha Pauls, daughter of Darlene Hubbard, Lincolnville; and Amanda Kleiber, daughter of Lynn and Peggy Kleiber, Ramona.

King candidates are Aaron Barney, son of Gene and Denise Barney, Tampa; Brent Carlson, son of Marcus and Peggy Carlson, Lincolnville; Travis Burns, son of Victor and Gail Burns, Lincolnville; and Eric Peterson, son of Marvin Peterson, Lincolnville, and Lisa Peterson, Kechi.

The coronation ceremony will be held at 6:15 p.m., following the junior varsity games.

Little helpers from the kindergarten class are: Nicholas Stuchlik, son of Gary and JoAnn Stuchlik, Pilsen; Barrett Smith, son of Eldon and Kim Smith, Lincolnville; Skylar Rose, son of Shelly Phebus, Lincolnville; Kyle Riffel, son of James and Beth Riffel, Tampa; Bryce Naerebout, son of Tony and Rachel Naerebout, Tampa;

Kristin Vinduska, daughter of John and Gerry Vinduska, Pilsen; Cinder Varelman-Morton, daughter of John and Melissa Varelman-Morton, Tampa; Abigail Svoboda, daughter of Steve and Anita Svoboda, Lincolnville; and Carissa Shields, daughter of Kim Shields, Lincolnville.

A dance will follow the varsity games and will continue until midnight. Serving as DJ will be Steve Seifert of Lost Springs.
