Centre JV football team is whipped by Goessel Bluebirds

The Centre High School junior varsity football team was zapped 47-0 in a contest Monday at Goessel.

The Cougars had a tough time on the ground, losing almost as many yards as they gained.

The Bluebirds scored two times in the first quarter, three times in the second, and one in the third, when the 45-point rule brought the game to an end.

Nick Cole had six carries and Josh Olsen had three carries for eight yards each.

Ben Krause threw nine passes for one reception and two interceptions. Kevin Mueller advanced nine yards after the reception.

Cole and Ryan Richmond had three unassisted tackles each. Bryant Brunner had two unassisted and five assisted tackles. Mueller had one unassisted and four assisted tackles. Cole also recovered a fumble.
