Centre makes strong showing
Centre High School girls' and boys' track teams took second place April 16 at the Peabody-Burns invitational.
Among Centre girls who had first place finishes were: Kathleen Meek, 110-meter high hurdles and 300-meter intermediate hurdles; Andrea Stahlecker, 100-meter dash; Alisha Loveless, 220-meter dash; Raschelle Jirak, shot put and discus; and Ashlee Bowman, long jump.
Team scores were: Peabody-Burns, 127; Centre, 118; Goessel, 74; Little River, 40.
Kyle Luna placed first in the 800-meter run and Mark Pagenkopf was first in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, to lead the Cougars.
Peabody-Burns won the boys' competition with 149 points. They were followed by Centre, 86, Goessel, 79, and Little River, 47.
