Centre places fifth at power-lifting meet
Several Centre High School athletes participated April 19 in the state 1A power-lifting competition at Quivera Heights.
The team placed fifth overall, with several members placing in the top six.
Canh Antoszyk took first place in the 114-weight class. He compiled a total of 505 pounds, lifting 155 in bench, 165 in clean, and 185 in squat.
Zach Antoszyk and Steve Antoszyk competed in the 132-weight class. Zach took first place with lifts of 195, 205, and 315, for a total of 715 pounds. Steve finished third, lifting 235, 185, and 225, for a total of 645 pounds.
Adam Kristek placed fourth in the 173-weight class, lifting 270, 250, and 360, for a total of 880 pounds.
Others who participated were Casey Kristek, Ben Krause, Jacob Jirak, Cole Svoboda, Konley Harding, and Josh Leach.
