Centre players named to all-league teams
The Dwight David Eisenhower League has announced the 2002 all-league volleyball and football teams. Several Centre High School players were named.
In volleyball, senior Laura Klenda was named to the all-league first team and senior Ashley Bowman received all-league honorable mention.
In football, offensive end Todd Stahlecker was assigned to the all-league first team offense. Quarterback Curtis Gutsch, running back Kyle Luna, and center Derek Belton were named to the all-league second team offense.
Lineman Travis Burns, linebacker Kyle Luna, and defensive back Todd Stahlecker were named to the all-league first team defense. Mark Pagenkopf was assigned second team linebacker. As a kicker, Kyle Luna received honorable mention.
Other teams in the Eisenhower League are Bennington, Hope, St. John's Military, St. Xavier, Solomon, Tescott, Wakefield, and White City. Hope will be competing Saturday for the state title.
