Centre s Jackie Klenda elected state treasurer for FFA association
Jackie Klenda, a member of the Centre FFA chapter, was elected to serve the Kansas FFA Association as state treasurer for 2006-07. She was installed Friday at Manhattan during the final session of the 78th Kansas FFA Convention.
Klenda underwent several rounds of interviews during the week of the convention in which the nominating committee assessed each candidate's knowledge of current agricultural and education issues, FFA history, background, and leadership abilities.
She was among 10 final candidates for the six officer positions. Convention delegates elected their leaders from that group for the coming year.
Klenda and her new officer team will spend two weeks training for their year of leadership and service to Kansas FFA members.
Throughout the year, she will present various leadership workshops and will address local FFA chapters and FFA districts across the state.
She also will represent the Kansas FFA on a national level, including as a delegate in October to the 79th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.
Klenda is the daughter of Val and Julie Klenda of Lincolnville.
