Centre students achieve Standard of Excellence

Centre USD #397 has been notified the following grade levels received the highest level of achievement, the standard of excellence, on recent Kansas assessments: fourth grade mathematics, sixth grade social science, and 11th grade reading.

These assessments are used to accredit public schools in the state each year.

Not all grade levels take the Kansas assessments and not all subject areas are assessed at each grade level.

"This is a remarkable achievement that continues each year in USD 397 schools," said Superintendent Bob Kiblinger.

This is the third consecutive year that fourth grade mathematics classes have achieved the standard of excellence.

In 2004, fifth grade reading and 10th grade mathematics also achieved standard of excellence.

In 2003, fourth grade science and 11th grade reading achieved standard of excellence.
