Charles Anderson
Charles Alden Anderson, 84, of McPherson, died May 20, 2006, at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita.
Born Nov. 15, 1921, at El Dorado, he was the son of Garnett and Norris (Bollinger) Anderson.
On Nov. 15, 1941, he married Martha Carlson at McPherson.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II.
He worked for National Cooperative Refinery Association as a pipefitter and later in maintenance, retiring in 1983 after 34 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Anderson; and grandson, Bradley Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Martha of McPherson; daughter, Sandra Uhrig of Marion; son, Gene Anderson of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (today) at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, with the Rev. Michael J. Fibranz officiating.
A private family graveside service will be held at McPherson Cemetery with full military honors presented by American Legion Post #24 and VFW Post #2715, McPherson.
Memorial funds have been established with Trinity Lutheran Church or The Cedars Health Care Center.
