Chat and Dine is Saturday

I have to start by apologizing to anyone who came to Chat and Dine Saturday night, as you know it wasn't last Saturday night it's supposed to be this Saturday night. I guess I'm so used to Memorial Day being the last weekend of the month, I was just thinking about it being the first of the month, and I'm sorry, it was my fault. It will be this Saturday night.
We had a good crowd over the weekend. Our electricity area wasn't full but about every table around the lake was taken by campers. Friday was slow due to the rainy weather but when the sun came out on Saturday so did the people. Fishing was good with almost every species being caught. Lots of channel cat were taken, wipers were biting on liver, several drum were caught along with a few walleye, and lots of kid fish, perch, and bluegill. The heated dock was a busy place with the rain showers going through, and they caught several channel cat off of it. The boat fishermen did well too, several bass were caught, black and spotted. Jeff Unruh of Goessel caught a 5 lb. 12 oz. wiper by the heated dock. The water temperature today, Monday, is 68 degrees.
Two of my sisters visited us on Saturday, Virginia Gettinger of Overbrook, came down to go to her 55th class reunion at Florence, she stopped by before returning home. Eleanor and Paul Sillhan from Salina, also stopped by after decorating graves in the area. Dorothy and Woody Wilson from Potwin visited Sunday between customers. Sunday evening Mark, Leann, Kiana, and Levi Lewman brought supper for us and then went fishing for a while.
Don't forget to attend Chingawassa Days this weekend, lots of activities planned and the big concert in the park Saturday night, "38 Special."
