Chingawassa buttons on sale

Buttons are available for the eighth annual Chingawassa Days June 4-6 in Marion Central Park.

Little River Band will be the headliner June 5. Buttons for the Saturday night concert and all weekend events are $20 in advance, $25 after May 28 or at the gate.

General admission buttons are $5 in advance, $7 after May 28 or at the gate.

Children 10 and under are admitted free.

Buttons are available at Central National Bank, Marion National Bank, Tampa State Bank, Marion Pharmacy, Carlsons' Grocery, Gene's Travel/G&J Video, Marion city office, Florence city office, and Peabody Gazette-Bulletin office.

Activities planned for Friday, June 4, are amusements, chain saw artists, comedienne Jae Pierce-Baba, Marion National Bank barbecue, and St. Luke Hospital ice cream social.

Music will be provided by The Union Jacks, a tribute to 1960s British invasion, and 3 Ring Circus, playing popular music from the 1980s and 1990s.

Activities planned for Saturday, June 5, are Marion Kiwanis Pancake Feed, Kansas Anvil Shooters, remote control car races, fast-draw demonstrations, Marion High School drumline, Tampa State Bank Bed Rock 'n' Run, youth dance performances, and amusements.

Midlands Farm Services Boot Race and Money in the Hay, Deer Trail Equipment Pedal Tractor Pull, Marion National Bank Grab-for-Cash Vault, and Central National Bank watermelon feed and bingo will finish out the day.

The band Polly, Esther and the Pleasures will be the opening act Saturday evening with Little River Band being the featured act.

A Sunday morning community church service is planned.

All events will be in Marion Central Park.
