Chingawassa in the black
"Everything ran really smoothly this year, pretty much as scheduled," said Chingawassa Days committee chairman Gene Winkler.
"We did pretty good. We were able to recoup some of the loss from last year. So, we'll do it again next year," Winkler said Thursday.
The eighth annual Chingawassa Days will be June 4-6, 2004, in Marion's Central Park. This year's event was June 6-8.
"We would hope that people would not schedule weddings or other big events that same weekend, if possible," Winkler said.
"We got pretty positive feedback on all of this year's events," he added. The Ozark Mountain Daredevils were well-received, as was Synergy, a modern pop-rock band from Wichita, making its second straight Chingawassa Days appearance.
If anyone has an idea of what band they would like to see headline the Saturday night show next year, they should let Winkler, Susan Cooper, Mike Powers, Margo Yates, or another committee member know.
"We'll see what we can do," Winkler said.
