CHS junior varsity plays in Marion tournament
The junior varsity volleyball team from Centre High School participated Saturday in a junior high tournament at Marion.
The girls won the first match with Hillsboro in two games, 25-14 and 25-13. They lost a match with McPherson in two games, 12-25 and 12-25, and also lost to Remington in two games, 21-25 and 19-25.
In the first game with Hillsboro, Selena Seifert served for 12 points and Chelsey Tajchman added five. There were seven rally points. Scorers in the second game were Tiaira Turner, six, Tajchman, five, and Seifert, three. Nine rally points were added.
Against McPherson, Ashley Griffith and Turner each served for two points in the first game. Jessica Deines scored two in the second, followed by Seifert and Turner, one each. Eight rally points were added in both games.
Griffith led scoring in the first game with Remington, with six points. Gloria Belton added two and Turner added one. There were 12 rally points. In game two, Seifert and Griffith each served for three points, and Tajchman and Alyssa Luna each added one. Eleven rally points were scored.
