CHS powerlifters are second at league meet
A team of powerlifters from Centre High School took second place Saturday in the Eisenhower League meet at Wakefield.
Individual placements were as follows.
Boys' results
123 weight: freshman Thieen Antosyzk, first overall and first in bench (175), clean (195), and squat (240).
132 weight: senior Brent Carlson, first overall and first in bench (170), clean (190), and squat (235).
141 weight: sophomore Bryant Gutsch, first overall, third in bench (185), first in clean (230), and first in squat (280); sophomore Jeremy Kristek, third in individual clean (170) and squat (225).
151 weight: senior Eric Peterson, fourth overall and second in clean (225).
166 weight: sophomore Tad Remy, second overall, second in bench (200), clean (225), and squat (330).
172 weight: freshman Seth Jirak, third overall, fourth in bench (205), and second in squat (370); sophomore Keenan Geissert, second in bench (225).
Girls' Results
Lightweight: junior Jill Fenske, second overall, second in bench (120), third in clean (125), and first in squat (205); freshman Selena Seifert, fourth overall, fourth in bench (110), and third in squat (170).
Middleweight: sophomore Jackie Klenda, second overall, second in bench (125), third in clean (135), and first in squat (205); freshman Megan Gutsch, third overall, third in bench (125), fourth in clean (130), and second in squat (205).
Other students who participated were Scott Peterson, Jimmy Cheever, and Brittany Owens.
Centre will compete May 1 at the 1A State Powerlift contest at Quivera Heights High School in Bushton.
