CHS scholars are regional champions
State bowl to be held Saturday at Centre
The Centre High School Scholars' Bowl team won the 1A regional contest Thursday at Burlingame.
Team members are Tad Remy, Tim Baker, Brianne Stahlecker, and Rachel Davis. Tye Remy served as an alternate. They are coached by instructor Chad Tischhauser.
The team won four of five rounds in pool play, defeating Centralia, 50-10; Burlingame, 50-10; Williamsburg, 40-10; and White City, 40-30. Their only loss was to St. Xavier, 40-50.
They won all three of the final rounds, defeating Bern, 60-30, Burlingame, 30-20, and Wetmore, 60-40, to take first place.
The team will compete Saturday in the state 1A Scholars' Bowl. It will be hosted by Centre High School.
