CHS welcomes three new teachers

Three men have joined the instructional staff at Centre High School. All of them are single and are experiencing their first year of teaching.

Matthew Self grew up at Eudora, west of Lawrence. He obtained a B.A. degree in math from Washburn University.

He teaches algebra II, geometry, pre-calculus, and probability and statistics. He also is assistant coach to Bud Peterson for the high school football team.

Self lives at Dwight. He said he enjoys hunting and fishing. His favorite sports are football, wrestling, and baseball.

Ryan Isbell is a native of Beloit. He attended Fort Hays State University where he obtained a B.S. degree in science.

He teaches biology, advanced biology, anatomy and physiology, and directs junior high science projects.

Self lives in Marion. He enjoys golf, hunting, and fishing. He is engaged to be married June 7, 2003.

Ryan Rose grew up at Uniontown, in southeast Kansas. He earned a B.A degree. in technical education from Pittsburg State University.

Rose teaches electronics, technology, carpentry, and other industrial arts.

He said he enjoys reading books and watching movies. He also enjoys fishing and hunting.

Rose lives in the district-owned house at Centre High School.
