CJHS boys continue winning streak

The Centre Junior High Cougars continued their winning streak Thursday by defeating Prairie Heights 54-38.

Four players scored touchdowns. Phillip Griffith had three, on two-yard, 53-yard, and 48-yard runs. Dane Moore contributed two scoring receptions on passes from quarterback Ben Krause. Krause ran the ball in one time on a 1-yard quarterback keeper, and Zach Slayden made a 10-yard run for another six points.

Six of the seven PATs were good. The two-point conversions were completed by Ryan Olsen, James Weber, Moore, and Griffith. Centre ran for 377 yards rushing compared to 50 yards by Prairie Heights.

Griffith was Centre's leading rusher. He carried the ball 25 times, covering an impressive 312 yards. Aaron Bowman was leading tackler with six unassisted and one assisted. Heath Shields had five unassisted and two assisted tackles.

The junior high Cougars are 3-0 in league play, 4-1 overall.
