CJHS boys defeat Luckey
Centre Junior High boys experienced an easy win Thursday at home in a game against Luckey of Manhattan. The final score was 45-15.
Ben Krause scored an incredible 25 points, including one trey, to lead the Cougars. James Weber added nine, Phillip Griffith eight, and Dane Moore three. Zach Slayden scored two points and Steve Antosyzk added one.
Centre led by three points, 8-5, at the end of the first quarter, but added 19 in the second quarter compared to only one by Luckey, to lead 27-6 at halftime.
The Cougars added 18 points in the second half compared to nine by Luckey to produce the 30-point winning margin.
The B-team was defeated, 42-37. Steve Antoszyk was leading scorer, with 12 points, followed by Konley Harding with eight. Tye Remy, Michael Kaiser, and Josh Leach added four points each. Kacey Hanschu added three and Ethan Forsberg two.
In a C game, Leach scored six points and Nathan Barney and Savik Howard added two each. Centre lost the game, 14-10.
