Close to 60 attend Senior Day years ago

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

We had a wonderful crowd here on Senior Center Day — close to 60 people who enjoyed eating together. The program was given by the center's own talented performers. Marilyn Geis played the organ as Virginia Downing played the piano and Herman and Iva Unruh showed selected slides of past programs.

By the way, we have an open mike every day at 11:50 a.m. Come share your music or story-telling or poetry reading with us. We're a good audience.

We will be having a food drive for the Marion County Emergency Food Bank on the four days following Labor Day. Bring your cans and boxes by.

John Lynch brought candy bars for his birthday, which was Aug. 20.

There is another service offered at the center, a well-kept secret. If anyone has a question or a problem, the accumulated wisdom here can and will find an answer!
