I talked to Dollye Novak. She said their son Col. William Novak, is in Kuwait and a scud missile missed them by just a few feet. He is in the medics. He is one to remember in our prayers.

Terry and Grace Stuchlik, Peter and Katie of Emporia and Stanley and Ruby Sharping of Wichita were dinner guests of their mother, Frances Stuchlik. All drove to Hutchinson in the afternoon to visit Father Dick Stuchlik at the Hutchinson hospital. The doctor thinks he has a blood clot in one of his swollen legs. He entered the hospital on Friday. Please put him on your prayer list.

I was informed of the death on March 4 of Tommy Webb, 77, of Pawhuska, Okla. He was three when his folks moved to Lost Springs and 10 when they moved away. He father worked in the oil fields. Survivors are four children — Teresa Jean Keller, George Thomas Webb Jr., Randy Michael Webb, and Sue Davis and grandchildren.

Among those attending the potluck dinner at the senior center Thursday noon were Alfred and Darlene Sondergard, Lowell and Marge Hanschu, Bob and Rita Brady, Reign and Marlene Anduss, Trevia Schneider, Kathy Hermann, Don and Norma Bird, Evelyn Strecker, Tony Meyer, and Larry Rudolph. "Happy Birthday" was sung in honor of Evelyn Strecker's 88th birthday. Eight members decided to go on the bus to Salina April 3 for the Senior Spring Fling. The annual board meeting of the Marion County Department for Elderly will be held at the center from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 18. Election will be held Tuesday at the center. Card Bingo was played after the meeting. Winners were Lowell and Marge Hanschu, Bob Brady, and Evelyn Strecker.

Frances Hanschu went to Salina Friday to get her husband, Clinton, so he could spend the weekend with her in Ramona.

Mervin and Leona Deines took their granddaughters, Jessica Deines and Samantha Coup, to the K-State vs. Harvard girls' basketball game Sunday in Manhattan. The K-State girls won.

Bob and Debbie Burns, Sarah, Terese, Joshua, and Michael of Wichita were Sunday dinner guests of Alex and Jean Stuchlik. In the evening, all went to the home of Gary and Jo Ann Stuchlik near Pilsen for a wiener and marshmallow roast.

Bob Thornhill, Larry Rudolph, and I distributed commodities at the Ramona Senior Center from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday.

I visited with Carol (Shields) Schoof and her husband of San Antonio, Texas, Thursday afternoon. She gave me an update on the J.B. Shields and Omar Shields families. Carol is a member of the Omar Shields family. Her sisters Arlene and Anita live in California and Anita is not too well. The only living member of the J.B. Shields family is Marie. She is single and will be 99 April 17.

Selma Ingram told me that since it rained so much this last week all the sewer lines in Lost Springs sunk in. Because of this problem, she had a hard time getting in and out of her place.

Randy and Colleen Klug and Brandon of Herington hosted a party for the fifth birthday of their twins Alison and Nicole Sunday afternoon. Bob and Irma Reznicek joined other relatives and friends for cake and ice cream.

Bob Reznicek, John and Helen Reznicek of Marion, and Charles and Mary Loewen of Hillsboro ate Thursday evening at D's Café in Lost Springs.
