Lost Springs commodities will be handed out Wednesday afternoon at the home of Frank Wirtz who lives across the street north of Centre Elementary school.

Eva Miller had hip surgery Tuesday at the Salina Regional Hospital. She was able to come home this past weekend.

Selma Ingram took care of Oaklan and Tia Jenkins on Veterans Day while their parents, Larry and Connie Jenkins, went shopping.

Larry Rudolph visited with me Tuesday night which was Veterans Day. He attended the Veterans Day program at Centre Elementary School. He thought there were 23 veterans present from Lost Springs, Ramona, Tampa, Pilsen, Lincolnville, and Burdick.

Douglas Strecker of Hesston picked me up Nov. 9 and we went to Marion Christian Church's 125th anniversary church services and then to the Marion city building basement for dinner. Lola Wheeler has attended the Marion Christian Church for over 80 years. I sang in the choir of that church and taught Sunday school from 1937 to 1941.

Bill and Dollye Novak, Bob and Hallie Novak, Ronnie Hajek, and others from Lost Springs attended the Veterans Day program.

We were sorry to hear Barbara Jost, daughter of Max and Toby Loveless of Lincolnville, died. We extend our sympathy.

Jeanetta Hanschu went to the baby shower Saturday in honor of Julie Deines at St. John Lutheran Church basement.

My nephew, Francis Leon Krch of Phoenix, Ariz., called me about 12:15 Monday morning and told me his mother and my sister, Irene Krch, died. Her body will be flown to Wichita. Herington Chapel Penwell-Gabel will be in charge of the funeral. The date of the funeral is not known at this time. Interment will be at the Tampa Catholic Cemetery.

Larry Rudolph visited his sister Mary Helen Black, Micky and Lance of Herington Sunday afternoon and was their supper guest. Larry visited me in the evening.

On Veterans Day I drove to Marion in the morning and accompanied Mary Olson to Peabody to attend a meeting and dinner of the Marion County Historical Society at the Peabody library. Mary Olson, our president, presided over the meeting before dinner. After dinner Evelyn Strecker paid tribute to the veterans followed by Marilyn Jones showing slides and giving the history of "Ghost Town of Watchorn."

Dollye Novak called on me Monday morning to gather Christmas gifts I had for the Veterans of Colmery O'Neil V.A. Hospital in Topeka.

Irma and Bob Reznicek attended the first annual Archdiocesean Pilgrimage in honor of the Servant of God, Father Emil Kapaun Nov. 11 at the Pilsen Catholic Church. There was a military honor and wreath laying ceremony in honor of Father Emil Kapaun at the Memorial. Lunch was served in the church basement.

Edmund Reznicek, Rogers, Ark., stopped in to visit Irma and Bob Reznicek en route home from Marshall County Tuesday and stayed over until Wednesday.

Mary Loewen of Hillsboro and Lori Torline of Wichita spent Friday with their mother Irma Reznicek to help her with some work.

Irma Reznicek accompanied Bob and Carol Makovec Saturday afternoon to Herington to help Taylor Heitfield celebrate her eighth birthday at the home of her parents, Troy and Robin Heitfield.

Irma and Bob Reznicek went to Herington Saturday night to help Randy Klug celebrate his 40th birthday with other relatives and friends.

After Mass Sunday at the Pilsen Catholic church, Irma and Bob had breakfast which was served by the Knights of Columbus in the basement. Bob helped to serve the pancakes and sausages.

Ruby Holub, rural Marion, hosted supper Sunday night in honor of Dan Holub's daughter, Heather, who is on leave from service in Korea and in honor of Chris Holub who is on leave from Arizona. Guests were Dan and Rhonda Holub and family of Marion, Frank and Vera Holub and family of Halstead, and Irma and Bob Reznicek.
