Computer store opens in Marion

Located in the northwest corner of TC's What Not Shop at 901 E. Main, Marion, is another family-owned and operated business — Vision Quest Computers.
Tim Risinger, with wife Heather, offers computer equipment and services.
For the Risingers, moving to Marion from Wichita was always in their plan.
Heather is the granddaughter of Marion residents Virgil and Doris Buckner and she knew that someday she would move to Marion to raise her children.
With husband Tim and five-year-old son Jordan, the Risingers are living their dreams — to own and operate their own business and live in Marion.
Tim Risinger has worked with computers since 1999 and received certification in 2005. He plans to continue his training and obtain additional certifications.
"I see a need for a computer store that is tailored toward individuals and not businesses," Risinger said.
New computer equipment, computer repair, networking, and online auction assistance are among the services that are offered.
Customer service is Risinger's first priority. He offers computers the way the customer wants it, not the way it comes in a box.
"Instead of only offering standard types of computer packages, I'll custom design whatever a customer wants," he said. Also by offering in-store warranties, if there's anything wrong with the equipment, it won't be sent back to the factory like larger, discount stores require. It will be repaired locally or returned through his store instead of by the customer.
"Computers are my passion," he said, "and I am willing to jump through hoops for my customers."
Free delivery and set up of equipment is available as is layaway with flexible terms.
"I want to keep the money in Marion," he said.
As a child, Heather visited her grandparents and lived in Marion for a short time. When she had her son, her goal was to return to Marion to raise her son.
"From the first time I visited Marion with Heather I fell in love with the community," Tim Risinger said.
Plans fell in place and the family moved here in October and opened their computer business about six weeks ago.
"Everything is nice and gentle here compared to Wichita," Risinger said. "We love it here and love the people."
