Country club hosts scramble tourney

Marion Country Club played host Sunday to 43 teams in an 18-hole, two-man scramble tournament.

The teams were broken into four groups, or flights, based on score. Marion residents placed in the top four in each flight.

Aaron and Nickolas Hett finished third in the championship flight, as the pair shot 64.

The next flight, or first flight, were teams that shot between 67 and 69. Greg Carlson and Doug Dick won a tie-breaker against Jerry and Bryan Hess for third-place. Both groups shot a round of 67.

The second flight contained teams who finished with a round between 70 and 76. Again, a team from Marion placed as Don Hess and Gene Winkler finished fourth with a round of 72.

Chris and Pat Costello wound up with a first-place finish in the third and final flight after a round of 77.
