County toy run makes money, collects toys for families
The 13th annual Marion County Toy Run had another successful year.
Nearly 100 motorcycles, a dozen classic cars, and a semi truck loaded with 50 bicycles traveled from Marion to Hillsboro Nov. 4.
Donations from businesses, individuals, and an auction exceeded $10,000.
Toys from the run were donated to the area Christmas Tree at Hillsboro State Bank.
Other monetary and toy donations will be distributed to Marion County families in time for Christmas.
The event is sponsored by the Sons of American Legion #366, ABATE of Kansas District 9, and the Route 56 Classic Cruisers.
