Couple is wed June 25 in outdoor ceremony years ago

Michelle Wessel and Ryan Crowell, both of Lawrence, were married June 25 in an outdoor ceremony in Lawrence. Judge Michael Powers, stepfather of the bride, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Judy and Michael Powers of Marion and Bill and Linda Wessel of Council Grove.

The groom is the son of Mona Ripey of Forsythe, Mo., and Olin Crowell of Gardner.

The bride wore an ivory Pronovias gown of duponi silk with a fitted body and sweep train. She also wore an antique choker necklace and cuff bracelet, which belonged to her Grandma Wessel.

She carried a hand-tied bouquet of orange spray roses, hot pink Gerbera daisies, and yellow alstromeria, purple stock, and green hypericum with an ivory ribbon finish.

Camille Hohnbaum was her sister's matron of honor. Sarah Walker was an honorary attendant to the bride.

Chad Carpenter served as best man.

Ushers were Eric Brown, Matt Powers, and Josh Powers, stepbrothers of the bride.

Guest book attendants were Maggie Powers and Cristy Brown, stepsisters of the bride.

A dance and buffet followed the wedding ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple lives in Lawrence.
