Curley bound over for trial in threat case

Michael A. Curley, 38, of Florence, was bound over for trial Sept. 9 in a late-afternoon preliminary hearing in Marion County District Court.

Curley is charge with one count of making a criminal threat, a felony. He remains jailed on $25,000 bond.

Curley was arrested Aug. 28 at Marion Elementary School after he reportedly threatened school officials over the phone. He said he was going to come to Marion and kill people.

When he arrived at MES, law enforcement people arrested him.

Curley is scheduled for formal arraignment at 9:45 a.m. Monday in Marion County District Court.

He is being represented by Steve Staker, attorney from the Sixth Judicial District Public Defender's Office in Junction City.
