Cutest babies ever
Matt Newhouse's announcement was delightful. Matt will make a "dandy daddy." What a lucky little girl. Of course, I believe her mother is special too.
Speaking of babies, my new little great-great grandson Burk Lane Springer came to call, six days old. Never have I held a sweeter, handsomer, little doll. Well, all my children — grands, greats and great-greats — were the cutest babies ever.
I got excited the other night. Charlie Rose had Abdullah, King of Jordan, as his guest. Since I had just read Queen Noor's book it was just like a character in the book had opened the pages and stepped out. He seemed like such a reasonable young man. I'm sure he is a fine king.
Nature showed her power as Isabel slammed into the coast of North Carolina. It was just like a huge lion stalking a person and at last leaping upon him with all his power.
Getting back to generations, it can't be time for my son Bud and his wife LaVonne to reach their 50th wedding anniversary. Memories of family, friends, flowers, vows, and wedding cakes take over. The bride's dress was designed and made by a friend of mine. I loaned my car to the happy couple so they could sneak away from those people who like to cause trouble. The next day they started for Fort Lewis in Washington where Bud was to complete his tour with the Army. There was a mixture of joy and sadness as they would be gone a year or more. All ended when they chose Marion as their home.
Their daughter Gayle and Mike Thomas were married 25 years ago on her parents' wedding day. Congratulations to both couples!
