CVL All Stars take fifth at state
The Cottonwood Valley League (12-year-old) All-Stars traveled to Scott City Friday to participate in the state tournament. They earned the opportunity by winning the district tournament held in Marion.
The team took fifth place. Those participating from Marion were Calvin Jeffrey, Chase Carlson, Logan Richmond, Justin Heidebrecht, Zan Fine, and Brett Billings. Others were Brian Palermo, Eli Fowler, and Cole Starky, all of Cottonwood Falls, and Gavin Serene and Travis Riesen, both of Hillsboro.
The team was coached by Mitch Carlson and Allan Richmond and managed by Mike Jeffrey. Colton Jeffrey was bat boy.
