Dalphas Ford

Dalphas Ray Ford, 84, died Feb. 28, 2002 at his home in north Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born March 29, 1917, to Tressie Rebecca (Blankley) and Clee Jerome Ford in Lincolnville.

He was well known in the Boy Scout community for his many years of service while his boys were young.

He was an active member of the Village Christian Church serving as teacher, elder, deacon, and board member during his 30 year membership.

He retired from Montgomery Ward in 1978 with 30 years of service.

He served in World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945.

He married Mary Francis Huff and was a devoted husband and father for his remaining 44 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William, Jerome, and Leslie. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sisters, Ruby Linnens, Fern Timm, and Elizabeth Koegeboehn; eight children and spouses: Louise and Alving Lyon, Irene and John Southards, Ron and Bitsy Boggess, Bill and Claudia Boggess, Delphine and Gary Chatham, Betty and Jim Reed, Michael and Sharon Ford, and Edwin and Linda Ford; 26 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday at Village Christian Church with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Oklahoma County or the church.
