Davidsons bring home blue ribbons

Sarah and Rachel Davidson attended 4-H Days Saturday. Each participated in four events. Sarah did a piano solo, reading, a demonstration, and public speaking. Rachel did a piano solo, reading, vocal solo, and project talk. They brought home blue ribbons in all events.
Greg and Rose Davidson played cards with their card group twice last week.
The women from Youngtown met Thursday morning for breakfast at the Stone City Café. Those present were Alvina Hoffman, Rosalie Klassen, Shirley Bowers, Rose Olive Hett, L.Dena Goertz, Virginia Downing. Marilyn Geis, Marilyn Cox, and Margaret Ireland.
Vicki Smolik and Edmund Steiner attended a family birthday party this weekend honoring Morgan Makovec and hosted by her parents, Tim and Becky Makovec. Other guests were Paul and Kathy Swan, Justin and Katrina Griffin, Kandace and Kassidy, Faye and Jerry Makovec, and Joe Makovec and Aaron. Cake and ice cream were served.
Eileen Sieger attended the Republican Women's luncheon meeting Wednesday at September Apartments.
Marilyn Cox visited me Wednesday afternoon.
Mary Beth Bowers and Rhonny and Shirley and David Bowers attended a praise service Sunday evening at Aulne United Methodist Church. Todd Just led the service.
Marj Johnson, Jo Gearheart, and I attended the junior flute recital Thursday afternoon of Sarah Gearheart at Wiedemann Hall, Wichita State University. I spent the night with the Johnsons and returned home Friday morning.
Paul Kraus, Jason and Aaron stopped Sunday afternoon to visit Ray and Rita Kraus.
Cate and Leon Hayen brought supper to the Hayen farm Thursday evening. Virginia Downing and Marilyn Geis were helping Dorothy clean her house, so joined them for supper.
Alvina Hoffman attended the party at September Apartments Sunday afternoon honoring the 94th birthday of Annie Hanschu.
Howard and Beth Collett visited John and Rita Spinden in Cottonwood Falls Thursday evening, and with niece Linda and John Knaak and daughter Sarah of Wellington, Colo. Additional visitors were Bill and Rosa Spinden of Strong City and Mike and Bernice Spinden, Ryan, Trey, and Morgan Marie.
Rosalie and Leonard Klassen ate dinner Friday evening with Ivanlee and Mary Ann Timm to celebrate Ivanlee's birthday. Leonard attended the soil conservation meeting in Hillsboro Saturday night. The Klassens attended the "Chuck and Fanny" musical presentation Sunday night at Hillsboro.
Charla Wheeler drove Betty May, Martha Hood, Gerry Mills, and myself to Newton Sunday for lunch. We attended the Singing Quakers concert at the Newton United Methodist Church in the afternoon.
