Dick Schulz

Richard G. "Dick" Schulz, 77, died March 28, 2006, at Memorial Hospital, McPherson.

Born Feb. 3, 1929, near Canton, he was the son of Glen and Flossie (Rogers) Schulz.

He graduated from Canton High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953.

On Sept. 3, 1950, he married Virginia Winter at Canton.

He retired from the NCRA Refinery where he worked as a leaderman in the welding shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Darrell Dean Schulz.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia of McPherson; three sons, Douglas Schulz, Stanley Schulz, and Rick Schulz, all of McPherson; daughter, Debra Williams of McPherson; three brothers, Harold Schulz of Fallbrook, Calif., Chriss Schulz of Wichita, and Roger Schulz of Canton; two sisters, Virginia Tolle of Temecula, Calif., and Carolyn Moddlemog of Beaumont, Calif. 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson, with the Rev. Michael Fibranz officiating.

Burial was in McPherson Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #24 and VFW Post #2715.

Memorial funds have been established with Sunflower Chapter of American Red Cross or Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson.
