Dog quarantined after biting person

Officers responded to a report of a person being bitten by a dog in the 300 block of South Cedar Street. The dog was taken to Animal Health Center of Marion County and quarantined. The owner of the dog was issued a citation.

Monday: An officer met with a business owner regarding the removal of a car from his parking lot. A stop sign that was knocked over was located at Eisenhower and Main streets. Assistance was provided to a lost motorist. A dog running at-large complaint was checked in the 300 block of South Cedar Street. A warning was issued for illegal discharge of fireworks.

Tuesday: Criminal damage to the city's gazebo in Central Park was investigated. A follow-up interview was conducted regarding a sexual abuse investigation. An illegal dumping complaint was investigated. Residents complained about barking dogs. A warning was issued for loud music from a vehicle. A warning was issued for a defective tail light.

Wednesday: A complaint of skunks was taken. Traffic control was provided to the fire department. An open business door was located and secured. A warning was issued for a defective brake light.

Thursday: A search warrant was served for an investigation from another jurisdiction. Traffic control was provided for a funeral escort. Bicycle registration was conducted. A warning citation was issued for a j-turn. A stranded motorist was assisted.

Friday: A water leak was located at Denver and Freeborn streets. An unwanted subject was removed from a residence in the 100 block of Billings Street.

Saturday: Officers were at firing range for firearms qualifications. Response was provided to a domestic dispute in the 500 block of North Cedar Street. Assistance was provided to a stranded motorist. A warning citation was issued for speeding. An investigation was conducted regarding two juveniles running away from a residence in the 100 block of North Cedar Street. Assistance was provided to a sheriff's deputy with booking a prisoner in the county jail.

Sunday: Two runaways were picked up in Florence and transported to juvenile intake in Marion. A 911 hang-up was checked in the 300 block of North Freeborn Street.

Officers drove 870 miles, and issued one citation, six warning citations, and made two arrests.
