Domestic violence plagues county
An individual and victim were arguing at 214 Lombard, Lincoln-ville, between 11 and 11:48 a.m. Sept. 1, reports Deputy Rollin Schmidt. The individual pushed Rebecca Ann Alvarez of Lincolnville on the chest with both hands.
Another individual and victim were arguing at 603 North B, Ramona, between 11:40 a.m. and 12:04 p.m. Sept. 5, reports Deputy Larry Starkey. The individual hit Rhiannon Janow of Ramona over the left eye while she was holding her baby. She was taken to Herington Hospital for treatment. The individual was arrested for domestic battery.
Another argument occurred at the storage units on Upland between 11:30 a.m. and 12:04 p.m. Sept. 6, reports Deputy Starkey. An individual grabbed the arms of Theresa Steffen then pushed her backward in her wheelchair causing her to fall. Steffen's face struck the concrete floor, causing several teeth to be knocked loose and injury to her left hand. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment. The individual who attacked her was arrested for aggravated battery.
At the same location, victim Lance A. Alexander of Cedar Point was grabbed by a different individual and choked. Alexander was taken to the hospital to have his injuries evaluated. The perpetrator was arrested by Deputy Starkey for battery.
An individual was driving south on Indigo at 67 miles per hour at 12:11 a.m. Aug. 7. The individual was stopped by Sergeant Jeff Soyez for speeding. In plain view was a marijuana seed on the back seat. After a short search, 21.2 grams of marijuana, a marijuana pipe, rolling papers, and a set of street scales were found. The individual was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail.
A driver was stopped for a headlight out at Main and N. Roosevelt in Marion at 9 p.m. Aug. 30 by Sergeant Soyez. The driver failed field sobriety tests and marijuana was found in the vehicle.
Some hunters found a duffel bag under a tree at 7:30 p. Sept. 6. After opening the bag, they recognized the contents as a methamphetamine lab, reports Deputy Aaron Waddell.
Unknown person(s) took a for sale sign from property near 7th and Barker, Florence, sometime between 9 p.m. Sept. 5 and 4:30 p.m. Sept. 7, reports Deputy Waddell. The sign valued at $20 belonged to Jeffery Nightengale of Florence.
An individual entered a locked mobile home used for storage between noon Aug. 1 and 10 a. Sept. 2 at 105 Smith Street, Lost Springs, reports Deputy Schmidt. A Magnavox stereo/CD player belonging to Rose M. Zinn, 100 Poplar, Lost Springs, was taken. The stereo was valued at $100.
