Donald Bird
Donald E. Bird Jr., 43, Newton, a former resident of Herington, died March 14, 2002, at his home.
He was born June 13, 1958, at Rolla, Mo., the son of Donald E. Sr. and Norma J. (Whitlock) Bird.
Graveside services were held Monday at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington, with Pastor Shane Britt officiating.
He worked for Bunting Magnetic's of Newton, as a welder.
Bird lived in Herington from 1970 until he move to Newton in 1988. He attended Herington High School with the class of 1976.
He married Jackie S. Patterson June 7, 1996, at Newton. She survives of the home. Other survivors are a daughter Misty Jackson of Minot AFB, N.D.; three stepsons, Aaron Bayes of Newton, Rodney Bayes of Emporia, and Timothy Bayes of Whiteman AFB, Mo.; his parents Don and Norma Bird, Ramona; three sisters, Fern Leach, Cindy Bird, and Julie Linn, all of Ramona; and three grandchildren.
Memorials have been suggested to the Harvey County Hospice, Newton, or the Rosebank BIC Church ABC/Youth, Hope.
