Donald Hawbecker
Donald LeRoy Hawbecker, 79, of Vista, Calif., died May 7, 2003, at Tri-City Medical Center, Oceanside, Calif.
Born Jan. 9, 1924, at Marion, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hawbecker.
He was raised in Manhattan and retired as a captain after 30 years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Dana, of Vista, Calif.; three stepsons, Frank Battaglia, Peter Battaglia, and Nicholas Garcia, all of California; four step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Marion Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
