Donations being accepted for Chingawassa Days

Donations are being accepted to the Chingawassa Days fund.

Contributions are used to defray costs associated with the event, particularly musical entertainment.

The main concert this year features 38 Special with opening act Trent Summar and the New Row Mob.

All musical acts during the three-day festival, plus a stage and lighting that meets performance requirements, are almost $30,000.

The goal is to make much of this through button sales. However, contributions are vital to the festival's success. In particular, donations received by May 1 help ensure there is enough cash on hand to meet obligations before button sales pick up the week of the event.

Contributions are recognized through special levels of contribution. They are Rhino (donations of $1,000 or more); Warrior ($500 and above); Railcar ($250 and above); and Contributor ($100 and above).

Any individual, business, or community organization wishing to donate should make out the check to Chingawassa Days Fund and send to Marion City Office, 203 North Third, Marion KS 66861.

Contributions received by May 1 will be included on brochures handed out at the festival and through other recognition.
