Donna Avery

Donna L. Weast-Boone-Avery, 66, died April 20, 2007, at her home near Marion.

Born July 14, 1940, at Colorado Springs, Colo., she was the daughter of Walter and Ada Davis.

She purchased the Stone City Café in 1988, which she owned and operated with her daughter, Debbie.

She was preceded in death by husband, Richard Boone; and stepdaughter, Velma Reilly.

Survivors include her husband, Austin "Pete" Avery of rural Marion; two stepsons, Ike Boone of Marioin and Ed Creekmore of Bentley; two daughter, Deborah Cook of Marion and Sheryl Reed of Wichita; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Shaw of El Dorado and Louise Morrison of Branson, Mo.; two sisters, Janette Bishop and Eva Bratcher, both of Van Alstyne, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this morning (Wednesday) at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Marion, with the Rev. Josh Wesner officiating.

Burial was in Strassburg Cemetery, rural Marion.

Memorial funds have been established with King's Daughters or the American Cancer Society.
