Peabody Police Chief Jeff Pohlman reported a non-injury accident July 27 at Ninth and Locust in Peabody. Stacey Hague pulled out onto Ninth Street from the stop sign on Locust and was struck by an oncoming car driven by Carol Dugan of Walton.
The theft of a bicycle from Division and Locust also was reported to officers July 27.
Another bicycle was reported stolen from 412 Peabody Street Aug. 1.
Friday night Peabody police officers stopped a pedestrian, Eric Henderson, to arrest him on an outstanding Marion County warrant for domestic battery.
Henderson fled the scene and a search ensued. Officers from Kansas Highway Patrol, Marion County Sheriff's Department, and Hillsboro Police Department joined Peabody Police in the search.
In the process, Peabody officers received a report of domestic battery at Second and Spruce. They abandoned the search for Henderson to address the battery issue. The disagreement turned out to be verbal and no arrests were made.
On Saturday, local police received an anonymous tip that Henderson was in Newton. Newton Police were contacted and Henderson was arrested. He was booked into Marion County Jail on the outstanding domestic battery charge.
Charges of obstruction of legal justice and resisting arrest are pending from the action Friday night.
Jeremy Brannen, formerly of Peabody, also was arrested at the same Newton address as Henderson. He was booked into Marion County Jail on an outstanding warrant. Brannen also was wanted in Butler and Harvey counties on outstanding warrants.
